Yoga on the beach
Practice yoga on the dedicated sala set directly on the edge of the beach. Relax and renew yourself as you listen to the waves, feel the ocean breeze and watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea.
Gina teaches classical hatha yoga flow which embraces the precision of Iyengar, the style of Sivananda, and the flow of Ashtanga with a focus on safety and alignment.
Benefits of yoga include weight loss, improved flexibility, muscle tone, relief from stress, enhanced creativity, lymphatic cleansing and liver detoxification. We will work on strengthening the immune system, nervous system and glandular system.
Ecolodge Cafe
The on-site restaurant features fresh and healthy Thai classics and fusion cuisine as well as a selection of Western dishes. Meals are eaten together in family style with everyone convening at the main sala after sunset where the chef has prepared a feast of dishes. You can also have the choice of ordering off the menu. Before dinner, enjoy a tropical cocktail or cold beer on the beach at the beach bar.
Accommodation - Jungle bungalows
The bungalows are constructed with natural materials to produce a simple and comfortable space for guests to enjoy the tranquility of the area. Each room has a private bath with western toilet and shower. Rooms have either a large Queen size bed or two single beds. A large covered patio is shared for each house of two or three rooms. We also have several suite rooms for families or those requiring more space. Each suite consists of a bedroom and adjoining sitting room, extra mattresses may be added for families with children.

Snorkel & Scuba Dive
Koh Ra Ecolodge IS THE CLOSEST resort to the world famous Surin Islands Marine National Park. That means that you can minimize your time on the boat running out to the islands and maximize your diving time.
Koh Ra Ecolodge operates an on-site dive center offering PADI certification for people wishing to join the Reef Check expeditions. Recreational dive trips to the Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock, and Koh Tachai. Liveaboard dive trips can be arranged to the Surin and Similan Islands and Mergui Islands in Burma, just north of Koh Ra.
Jungle treks
There are several easy walks around the Ecolodge as well as a more demanding ridge hike, which can be extended to a cross-island adventure with boat pick up on the other side.
Koh Ra abounds with birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians including several species of hornbills, broad bills, pitas, bee-eaters, doves and pigeons, hawks and eagles, wild pigs, deer, otters, pangolin, leopard cats, flying squirrels, lizards, gliding gekkos, tree frogs of all sorts, to name just a few that are normally encountered.
Join in on the regular night walks along the brick paths that run through the jungle to look for owls, amazing beetles and the fantastical slow loris.
Location - Getting there
Koh Ra Ecolodge is easily accessible from either Phuket from the south or Ranong from the north. Make your way by bus or taxi to Kuraburi pier, about 10 km north of Kuraburi town. Where we will pick you up in our boat and take you on a 20minute ride out to our island retreat.
Sustainable Eco Tourism
The Koh Ra Ecolodge features a secluded island beach, pristine jungle, and a "green" accommodation alternative where you will find bungalows constructed with local materials, a solar array, an organic garden, waste separation, gray water recycling and locally-produced foods.
The Koh Ra Ecolodge was started by a locally-based NGO that has worked in marine conservation in the area for several years. Their mission is to offer a green alternative model to Thailand's mass-tourism beach resorts; provide a venue for sustainability and conservation projects and workshops; and work to benefit the local environment and communities in the area.
The island is a proposed National Park and is one of the gems of this coastline, which is Thailand's largest stretch of intact coastal jungle. There are about seven other National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in the area. As of yet, Koh Ra has almost zero development except for a few scattered houses and one remote resort tucked into the jungle on a private bay and beach (that's us).
